Does anyone know of any decent priced high quality ham radio transceivers?
I am just getting into ham radio and I am hoping to get my general class license soon. I am aiming to get an HF transceiver that is priced low (under $800), but is also good quality. If possible VHF/UHF capabilities would be appreciated but not necessary. My top two preferred brands would be Icom or Yaesu, but if there are other high quality decent priced brands, then I would be happy to look into those.
Would someone please tell me the price of the yaesu FT-450?
Welcome to ham radio!
If you don’t need the radio to be small for your car, the Yaesu FT-450 is a great choice:

It is in your price range too. You can get an aftermarket power supply for it and save a lot compared to the Yaesu supply.
