Hahaha… I remember those days. If I find my old list I’ll post it for you. lol
I’m guessing you’re a guy. But manicure kit threw me off.
1) Your school will likely have a gym you can go to for free so get rid of the dumbbells!
2) Unless you intend on doing laundry on your first day… Most school have laundry on campus (cheaper than off campus) and most of the time you have to put money on your card or student ID to use the machines or have to buy special coins so don’t bother with the quarters just have cash handy.
3) Go to ikea and get a starter kit. Most places don’t let you cook on campus your first year (hence the expensive meal plan) but some do. Just make sure you get a kit with 1 plate, 1 bowl, cup, mug, spoon, knife and fork. (a set of 2 is ideal, more is excessive)
4) Alarm clock can go if you have a cellphone unless you need the radio on it.
5) Now for the things you missed. I don’t know if they’re on the list or not but here you go:
- warm blanket/comforter/duvet.
- sheets, pillow case and pillow
- towels (2 is good)
- ironing board and iron
- SHOWER SANDALS PLEASE!!!!
- Radio and small TV. (I’m TV junky so that’s my absolute must have)
- Passport/birth certificate. (If you’re far from home you may need it in a moment’s notice)
- Small vacuum or those light removable pad mops depending on what kind of room you’re in.
- Checking account. Make sure that you have one in case money has to be wire transfered to you in a rush. Or have a credit card if you are going to be responsible or if your parents give you an allowance. Good way to start building credit.
- Make sure you find out your classes in advance and get the books ISBN. Look for them online and buy them for cheaper. The bookstore will rip you off. You can always buy the books at the bookstore and return them on time before you get penalized while you are waiting for you order to come. Pay extra for faster shipping.

Good luck!
