Do you need a tuner in your dvd vcr combo to record off of cable?
Yes is the simple answer but there are other ways around it. If you have a cable box, you can connect the A/V output to the recorder.
It is easier with a DVD/VCR recorder with a tuner though. This way you can record while watching something else.
