Question about radio?
i have a yaesu vx6r and i was transmitting and the battery went dead, when i took the radio back home to charge it the screen says no battery yet the battery is in the radio, i have tried every thing but the radio still will not charge the battery, Any helpful advice will be appreciated -Cody
Nice radio! Major complaint I have heard about these is the lack of an accurate battery power indicator. You usually don’t know it needs recharging till it dies (like it did for you).
The battery pack contains some extra circuits and it is possible the one in your’s died. Was the charger working fine before? Are the contacts clean? If you have shut the radio off, connected it to the charger and left it for a few hours and still it won’t hold a charge or recognize the battery, you might have to replace the whole pack. I did a quick search for replacements and they are available from a bunch of places for about $40. There are other packs available with higher mAH ratings than the stock one, for longer talk times.
