best 2m/70cm antenna for pickup truck?
I am looking for a dual band low profile antenna tha does not hit the garage door everytime I pull in. Not crazy about drilling holes or mag mounts. I run an Icom 208H with 55W vhf and 50W uhf.
I have had excellent results with the Larsen NMO2/70SH which is about the shortest (19″) dual band I could find.

Best performance would be achieved if you mounted it on the roof of the truck, but I am guessing it would still work fine if you mounted it on the front fender next to the hood.
If you used a trunk lip Mounting Bracket, you would only have to drill two very small holes on the inside lip of the fender. These would be hidden when hood was closed and could easily be patched when you decided to remove the antenna.
