Why won’t electric stuff work on cigarette lighter of 1998 Pathfinder?
This is really confusing. The cigarrette lighter works. It gets hot like it’s supposed to. I don’t smoke, so that’s unimportant. If I try to put some kind of power adapter for an iPod or a portable DVD player or anything else, it never works. Why would the lighter work but electric things not work? I’ve replaced the fuse, and all of the adapters I have tried work in any other vehicle but mine.
There’s nothing wrong other than the devices you’re plugging in aren’t making contact inside the socket. It may be that you need to push it in a little harder.
