Hang a large outdoor TV antenna for my scanner?
Is this a good idea? I thought I might be able to get much more communication as a radio and air-HAM. Where feasible, it seems I'll need some kind of adapter to go coaxial cable antenna BNC connector on the radio. Thank you for any help!
Regarding the adapters go, you'll need male – female male-male, female-female. The adapter that you plug into Theh scanner or radio is usually male. I have been in radio for years, began in BC, then the ham (radio amateur). When you go to get them, tell the person what you need to, how coax cable for your help, if the height of the antenna, the length of the radio / scanner to the antenna. You may need this information. I'm sure someone this can help you with that, the type that you need and everything. Being in radio all my life, I know that some of that. Good Luck.
